Subsidie Op Maat is your partner for applying for WBSO subsidy as a financial advisor. As a WBSO mediator, we help you as a financial advisor on your way to obtaining the WBSO subsidy for your client. We do this completely behind the scenes. By this we mean that you as advisor always remain the contact point for the client, and we as Subsidie Op Maat mainly have contact with the intermediary.

The WBSO subsidy is a valuable incentive for innovation in the Netherlands, with over 1.3 billion euros available. Your client's company can also benefit from this subsidy. It offers an allowance in labor costs for developing new technical ideas or solving technical problems within your company.

With Subsidie Op Maat 's expert guidance throughout the process, we work with the intermediary to see how the client's organization, whether a sole proprietor or employer, can bring these ideas to life and claim this valuable grant.

Subsidie Op Maat guide the application process for the WBSO subsidy, and you as intermediary maintain contact with the entrepreneur. We act as a wbso intermediary for your company.

Why start with the WBSO as a financial advisor or accountant?

  • Together we think about the possibilities for your client. We explain the process to you and help you think about the activities that are potentially eligible for the WBSO. You present this to the client and maintain contact between client and SOM.
  • Unique within our industry: we write the grant application. We take into account the latest insights and changes in subsidy rules and requirements. In this way, we ensure that the application has the best possible chance of being approved.
  • We supervise the process from A to Z. We monitor deadlines and deadlines and help set up the mandatory subsidy administration. We also act as an intermediary if you have questions for the RFO or if the RFO has questions for you.

Who is the WBSO intended for?

That is perhaps the best thing about the WBSO subsidy, it is available to almost all entrepreneurs, sole proprietors and ZZPs. Because ZZP'ers or sole proprietors generally do not have employees, the WBSO subsidy is also not calculated as a deduction from the payroll tax payment. Instead, you receive an additional deduction. This way, ZZP'ers or sole proprietors can still benefit from this WBSO subsidy scheme!

On a 'no cure, no pay' basis, we provide a WBSO application that we submit to the RFO.

How is the WBSO settled?

The WBSO (Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk) concerns a fiscal innovation scheme, as officially named by the RVO. In practice, it should be noted that it is not a "subsidy," but rather a scheme. This scheme provides partial reimbursement of costs and expenses related to research and development (R&D) projects. The exact financial outcome of the WBSO scheme depends on the legal structure of the company and is processed in the tax return.

There are two methods for offsetting the WBSO:

Fixed-sum method

Under the fixed-sum method, the applicant receives a payroll tax rebate based on the hours spent on the project. The rebate is based on a rough estimate of the average wage costs an entrepreneur (irrespective of the specific business sector) will incur in carrying out R&D.

Actual costs and expenses

The second method is that you choose the actual costs and expenses incurred. Here the additional amount is based on an estimate of the costs and expenses to be incurred for the purpose of the innovation project. Example are costs incurred to purchase materials for the innovative idea. Important here is that these costs are 1:1 attributable to the WBSO project.

Note: The choice of either the fixed-sum method or the actual costs and expenses will be fixed for the entire calendar year at the time of the first application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Then check out our blog on suitable grant projects. After that, do you still have no idea if your project is suitable? Then get in touch and we'll discuss it together.

For providing our services, we charge 15% of the grant amount. We work on a no cure, no pay basis: if you do not receive the subsidy, you owe us nothing.

We will always try to submit an application together that is as promising as possible. Of course, there is always a chance that your project will raise questions with the RVO, or that it will eventually be rejected. We will do our best to answer the questions of the RVO to ensure that the project has as much chance of success as possible. This way of working has ensured that we get very few rejections, after years of being in the business. If our customer does get a rejection, we will not send an invoice as we work based on no cure, no pay. We will then come over to look at other subsidy possibilities and simply try again.
